Introduction

The City of Stamford presents a unique challenge for residents and visitors alike. With its diverse offerings of restaurants, entertainment, and experiences, navigating the city can be difficult. To address this issue, we developed WKNDR, a trip planning app that aims to enhance the way people experience and explore Stamford.

Customer Discovery Research

We uncovered three key insights:

  1. Activity Coordination: People face challenges in coordinating activities with friends due to scheduling conflicts and differences in interests.
  2. Spontaneity vs Planning: Users desire a balance between spontaneous and planned eperiences. They value flexibility while also wanting some structure in their trips.
  3. Target Audience: Males and females aged 25-28 are the most likely to plan group trips.

Ideation and Solution

Based on the insights gathered, we began ideating solutions to address the identified challenges. Among the various ideas, we developed WKNDR—an app designed to centralize the group planning process and simplify the coordination of unique and fun experiences.

User Flows

To illustrate the user's journey with WKNDR, we created user flows that illustrated the following:

  1. Registration and Profile Creation
  2. Trip Creation
  3. Activity Suggestions and Voting
  4. Itinerary Creation and Sharing
  5. Real-time Updates and Reminders

Proof of Concept (POC)

To bring our early-stage idea to life, we created a demo proof of concept (POC) for WKNDR. The POC showcases the core features of the app, allowing potential users to visualize how WKNDR can simplify and enhance their trip planning experience.

Final Product

WKNDR is a trip planning app designed to address the challenges faced by individuals and groups when navigating the City of Stamford. By centralizing the planning process, providing personalized activity suggestions, and facilitating group decision-making, WKNDR aims to create a seamless and enjoyable trip planning experience for users. Through our customer discovery research and the development of a proof of concept, we are confident that WKNDR has the potential to revolutionize the way people experience and explore Stamford.
